Dates milk is a unique beverage which supplies necessary nutrients along with lowering the body temperature. It is one of the favourite drinks of my husband. According to him it is a complete drink and very filling because of the combination of milk and dates in it. It supplies all the nutrients and energy especially after workout and more importantly, this is one of the main reasons it is served during the festival season of fasting. As a matter of fact, it is one of the ‘must’ drinks during the Iftar and Ramadan season.

The many health benefits of eating dates include constipation relief, regulating cholesterol levels, intestinal disorders, heart problems, anemia and sexual dysfunctions. Dates milk, also known as Khajoor Milk, is highly recommended to be consumed during Winters.

Here are some benefits of drinking dates milk in Winters:

  • Dates and milk both are known for their bone strengthening properties. Joint pains are a common complaint during winters. Consuming this drink regularly will make it easy to carry out daily physical activities.
  • Dates contain high amounts of sulphur which keeps infections at bay. Drinking a glass of this drink will reduce seasonal allergies.
  • Winters are a time when you feel dull and drowsy because of the lack of sunlight. The natural sugars in dates provide instant energy and keep you active throughout the day.
  • The dates and milk mix is an age-old formula to build more endurance and also works like an aphrodisiac.
  • Winters also bring along digestion issues and gastric problems. Dates are rich in fibre and hence aid digestion. They also help in producing good bacteria.

Preparation of this milk is very easy and quick and any novice can do it. For this recipe, you will require…
