Peanut methi is an easy Maharashtrian dish. If you are worried about the bitterness of fenugreek leaves, I can assure you, the combination of fenugreek with peanuts takes away the bitterness. It is a very healthy recipe and an awesome treat to the tastebuds.

As a mom I am always trying out ways to get my boys to have healthy food. This recipe is very healthy, adding the benefits of both methi and peanuts and believe me kids love it. Also it is a very quick recipe…..try it out…..

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fenugreek leaves
  • 1 medium Onion, chopped
  • 1 tsp. Garlic, crushed
  • 1 tsp. Cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp. Garam masala
  • 1 cup roasted peanuts
  • 1 tbsp. Oil
  • Salt, to taste

Method

  • Wash the fenugreek leaves in water and chop it. Cut the onion and garlic and keep aside.
  • In a wok, pour the oil and add cumin seeds.
  • Once the seeds splutter, add the chopped onions and garlic. Let the onions sweat oil.
  • Again add fenugreek leaves and cook until the water has disappeared.
  • Now, add salt and garam masala and cook for 2 minutes.
  • Finally add the roasted and slightly crushed peanuts to it and mix properly. Cook for 5 minutes. Serve with hot chapattis.
