This Pomfret fry is made with a handful of ingredients that makes it a simple and complete meal. It is delicious with fantastic texture and flavor. The secret of this pomfret fish fry depends on the marinade.

Ingredients

  • Pomfret Fish
  • ¼ tsp. Turmeric Powder
  • 1 tsp. Coriander Powder
  • 2 tsps. Chilli Powder
  • 2 tsps. Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1 tsp. Pepper Powder
  • 2 tbsps. Oil
  • Juice of Half Lemon
  • Chopped Curry Leaves
  • Salt, to taste

 

Method

  • Firstly, clean and wash pomfret fish and make slits on the sides.
  • Marinate the fish steaks with turmeric powder, coriander powder, chilli powder, ginger-garlic paste, pepper powder, curry leaves, lemon juice and salt for at least half an hour.
  • Over medium heat, place a pan, add coconut oil. Place the marinated fish and cook for 4 to 5 minutes on one side.
  • Flip gently to the other side and cook for 4 to 5 minutes until the masala is well cooked and it is lightly browned.
  • Remove the fried fish from the flame on to kitchen towels to remove excess oil.
  • Garnish with vegetables and lemon wedges and enjoy with hot steamed rice!!
