Spicy Red Chutney

SPICY RED CHUTNEY

Print
Spicy red chutney also known as khara chutney, is a chutney made with pearl onions (shallots), tomatoes, spices and herbs. This chutney is spicy as red chilies are added. You can make it less spicy if you want, by adding less chilies or using chilies which are low in heat.

I have also used pearl onions in the recipe, and they give a really good flavour. Instead of pearl onions, you can also use shallots or regular onions.

Serve khara chutney with rava idli, masala dosa or uttapam.  Please check out my other chutney recipes here. To make this chutney, you will need the following ingredients.
